Rod Wheeler is a private investigator who provided his services to the family of murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich. On May 16, 2017, Wheeler went public with claims that an FBI source stated Rich had been in contact with Wikileaks prior to his murder.

Wheeler’s claims have not been substantiated, however they have been corroborated by Ed Butowsky, a Dallas investor who hired Wheeler, and in an alleged audio recording of journalist Seymour Hersh.

Wheeler has since withdrawn his claim and sued Fox News and Butkowsky over the incident.
